Chitosan2K-GSNO/Chitosan2000-GSNO(S-nitrosoglutathione) is a nitric oxide (NO) donor-conjugated chitosan derivative,where GSNO (S-nitrosoglutathione) is covalently or ionically linked to low molecular weight chitosan (~2 kDa).
Chitosan2k-GSNO was developed as a mucoadhesive nitric oxide-releasing polymer for antimicrobial wound healing.The conjugate enabled sustained NO release and improved retention at the application site.
