PLGA is a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer commonly used in drug delivery systems and tissue engineering.The inclusion of thiolated polyethylene glycol (PEG)in the copolymer structure provides several advantages.PEG is a hydrophilic polymer that improves the water solubility and stability of the copolymer.Disulfide linkages are susceptible to reduction in a reducing environment,and their cleavage can be triggered to release drugs or cargo encapsulated within the copolymer.
