Quiflapon (MK-591)/CAS No.136668-42-3 is a selective and specific inhibitor of 5-lipoxygenase activating protein (FLAP) with an IC50 of 1.6 nM in a FLAP binding assay. Quiflapon is also a potent and orally active leukotriene (LT) biosynthesis inhibitor, exhibiting IC50 values of 3.1 and 6.1 nM in intact and induced humans. Rat PMNL, respectively. Quiflapon induces cell apoptosis.
